The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) with more than 15,000 members, is the largest student-managed organization in the country.

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Today marks the beginning of the 2008-2009 new year for NSBE. The North Alabama Chapter – Alumni Extension is preparing for an exciting year built on our past, fixed for the present, and ready for the future. During this year we will continue with some of our successful programs including the Annual Scholarship Banquet which provides an opportunity for local high school students to participate in the space camp offered by the US Space and Rocket Center located in Huntsville, Al.
Our chapter will be fixed in the present by standing up new initiatives such as No Parent Left Behind, North Star professional development, and the Work Smart Live Smart wellness program. We will continue to develop our relationship with the local collegiate chapters at Alabama A&M University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In effort to have a greater impact on the community we will integrate our three chapters with a mission to plan and implement a Technical Out Reach Community Help (T.O.R.C.H) center at a local recreational facility.
Lastly, we will be ready for the future by training and preparing our chapter members to be leaders on our chapter, regional, and national boards. This begins by recruiting new members, keeping current members involved in the chapter, and bridging the gap between collegiate members, members at large, and corporate sponsor opportunities to build a strong chapter that will become a resource to our north Alabama community
This is just a taste of what we have in store for you this year and will be looking toward or membership to support these efforts. The North Alabama Chapter is ready to accept the challenge of promoting excellence within our membership and community, are YOU ready to join us? We're ready for YOU!
